Copy invisible Unicode characters for Instagram bio line breaks, blank usernames, and empty messages. Free, instant, no signup. 9 different invisible chars + bio templates.
A free invisible-character / empty-text generator that lets you copy invisible Unicode characters with one tap — Hangul Filler (U+3164), Zero-Width Space, Zero-Width Non-Joiner, Zero-Width Joiner, Word Joiner, Braille Pattern Blank, and more. Use them as line breaks in Instagram bios (which strip trailing whitespace), as "blank" usernames in games and forums, as filler for posts that look weirdly spacious, or as invisible padding in messages. Includes pre-built Instagram bio templates with line breaks already wired up — paste, edit, post. No signup, no install, runs entirely in your browser.
Around 2018, Instagram users discovered a bizarre quirk: pressing Enter twice in your bio produced no blank line — the platform silently collapsed it. Designers and creators wanted multi-line bios with breathing room, but the platform refused. Then someone discovered that pasting the Hangul Filler (U+3164) — a "presentational" Korean character that renders as zero-width but counts as non-whitespace — made Instagram preserve the line break. The trick spread, and today every Instagram bio with proper paragraph spacing is using one of these invisible characters as a workaround.
The same technique works on TikTok, Snapchat, Bumble, Hinge, and any platform that strips trailing whitespace.
Instagram (and TikTok, and many other platforms) trims trailing whitespace from each line of input — including the newline character. So when you press Enter twice to make a blank line, Instagram silently removes the empty line because it has no visible content. Inserting an invisible Unicode character makes the line "non-empty" from Instagram's perspective, so the line break is preserved. The Hangul Filler (U+3164) is the most reliable choice because Instagram's sanitiser does not detect it as whitespace.
Try Hangul Filler (U+3164) first — it works for most users. If that gets stripped, try Halfwidth Hangul Filler (U+FFA0), then Hangul Jungseong Filler (U+1160). Instagram's rules change occasionally, so multiple options exist as fallbacks. The Zero-Width Space (U+200B) is technically invisible but Instagram aggressively strips it; avoid for bios.
Most platforms (Instagram, Discord, Twitter / X, gaming services) explicitly forbid all-whitespace usernames and reject them on save. The Hangul Filler and similar characters used to work as a workaround but most platforms have patched this. Currently, Instagram requires at least one printable character in the display name. The invisible characters here are best used between visible characters, not as standalone usernames.
Yes, somewhat. Search engines index the underlying codepoints, so an invisible character in the middle of a keyword can prevent that keyword from being matched. Screen readers may announce some invisible characters by name ("HANGUL FILLER, …"), confusing users. Use them sparingly — for bio line breaks they are harmless, but avoid filling text with them or using them in keywords that need to rank.
Instagram bios allow up to 150 characters total — every invisible character counts toward that limit. Each Hangul Filler is 1 character (it lives in the Basic Multilingual Plane). For optimum bio space, use one invisible character per line break. Tools like the Invisible Char Generator let you copy many at once if you need them for spacing experiments, but 1 per line break is standard.
