💱 Currency Converter

Offline currency converter with ~50 major world currencies. Quarterly-updated approximate rates — no API, no tracking, instant results.

What is Currency Converter?

Convert between 50 major global currencies including USD, EUR, GBP, INR, AED, SAR, JPY, CNY and more. Uses a static rate table refreshed each quarter so the tool works offline and never depends on a flaky third-party API. Get the converted amount, both inverse rates, a multi-target panel showing your amount in 6 major currencies side-by-side, and a reference table for common amounts (1, 10, 100, 1000, 10000). One-click popular pairs and a swap button. Rates are approximate mid-market figures intended for estimation, planning and travel budgets — not for trading or settlement.

How to Use

  1. Pick the source currency from the "From" dropdown (or click a popular pair shortcut).
  2. Pick the target currency from the "To" dropdown.
  3. Type any amount — conversion updates instantly with no submit button.
  4. Use the swap arrow to flip From and To, or check the inverse rate shown below the result.
  5. Scan the multi-target panel and reference table for quick comparisons across major currencies.

Why an offline currency converter?

Most online converters break the moment their upstream rate API rate-limits, paywalls or goes down. By baking a quarterly snapshot of ~50 major currencies directly into the page, this tool loads instantly, works on aeroplane Wi-Fi, never tracks your queries, and gives consistent results across sessions. The trade-off is honest: rates can be 1-5% stale, so we display a clear disclaimer and recommend confirming any amount that actually moves money.

Mid-market vs the rate you actually get

The big number on this page is the mid-market rate — the midpoint of the global interbank buy/sell spread. Real consumers rarely transact at that rate. Banks add a 2-4% spread, credit cards add 1-3% plus a foreign-transaction fee, airport kiosks can charge 8-12%, and dynamic currency conversion (DCC) at point-of-sale terminals abroad routinely costs another 3-5%. Use the mid-market figure as a benchmark.

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate are these exchange rates?

Rates are approximate mid-market values from Q1 2026 and are intended for estimation only. They will drift from real-time rates by 1-5% depending on market volatility. For trades, transfers or invoicing, always confirm with a live source like your bank, broker or a real-time API.

How often are the rates updated?

The static rate table is refreshed every quarter (Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4). We deliberately avoid live APIs so the tool stays fast, private and works offline — at the cost of not reflecting intraday movement.

Why does my bank give me a worse rate than this calculator shows?

This tool shows the mid-market (interbank) rate. Banks, money exchanges and card networks add a spread of 1-4% plus fixed fees, ATM markups and dynamic currency conversion (DCC) charges. Expect to receive 2-5% less than the mid-market figure on a real transaction.

What is the difference between mid-market and retail rates?

The mid-market rate is the midpoint between the buy and sell prices on the global interbank market — it is the "true" rate. Retail rates are what consumers pay: they include the provider margin (spread) and fees. Wise, Revolut and broker-to-broker transfers come closest to mid-market; airport kiosks are usually the worst.

Are Forex rates the same as cash exchange rates?

No. Forex (electronic) rates are tighter because there is no physical handling cost. Cash rates at exchange counters are typically 2-6% wider because of insurance, security, idle inventory and lower volumes. Travel cards and multi-currency wallets generally beat cash for tourist amounts.
