What is The Gauntlet?

The Gauntlet is the 100× evolution of the Wheel of Names. Drop in up to 12 players and tap SPIN — the wheel lands on a name, screen splits, a second wheel spins to pick their fate (safe/spicy/wild dare, truth, or drink rule), confetti bursts, haptic buzz, and a full-screen reveal card is ready to screenshot-share. Six modes: Classic, Target, Duel (picks two for a joint dare), Truth or Dare, Gauntlet (elimination — decline a dare and you are out), and 21+ Drink mode. Each player starts with 1 immunity token to veto one dare; completing 3 dares in a row earns a Swap Fate power-up to hand the next dare to anyone. A live Fairness meter proves the RNG is blind so nobody can accuse the host. Age-gated Wild tier + Drink mode and a 4-digit Family Lock PIN that locks the app to Safe-tier only. 180+ curated dares, offline-first, mobile-first, zero backend.

How to Use

  1. Type a player name and hit Enter. Paste a comma-separated list to bulk-add.
  2. Pick a tier — Safe (kids ok), Spicy (PG-13), or Wild (21+ gated).
  3. Pick a mode — Classic, Target, Duel, Truth or Dare, Gauntlet elimination, or Drink.
  4. Tap SPIN. The wheel chains a name → fate reveal in one cinematic arc.
  5. On reveal: Did it, Veto (1 token/player), or earn a Swap Fate after 3 in a row.
  6. Tap "Share my fate" to send the reveal card via your device share sheet.
  7. Need family mode? Set a 4-digit PIN in Settings to lock the app to Safe tier.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many dares does it ship with?

180+ curated prompts: 40 Safe (family ok), 50 Spicy (PG-13), 30 Wild (21+), plus 30 Truth questions and 25 drink-mode rules. An LRU filter avoids repeats within a session.

How does Gauntlet elimination mode work?

Same as Classic, but if a player declines or vetos out of a dare, they are eliminated from the wheel. The last one standing wins. Vetos still count as declines in this mode.

What are immunity tokens?

Each player starts with one 🛡️ veto. When the wheel lands a dare on them, they can skip it once without penalty. When their token is gone, they have to do whatever lands.

How do Swap Fate powers work?

Complete 3 dares in a row ("did it") to earn a 🔀 Swap. Next time you get a dare, you can hand it to anyone still playing. Bring receipts for the drama.

Is the Wild/Drink mode really age-gated?

Yes — it uses a localStorage self-attestation toggle (same legal model as Reddit and YouTube mature content). Wild tier and Drink mode are locked until you confirm 21+. A separate 4-digit Family Lock PIN lets parents lock the whole app to Safe tier.

Does it work offline?

Yes. Everything runs in your browser. Install it as a PWA for full offline party play.

Is my roster saved?

Yes, locally — your last roster stays in browser localStorage. Nothing is sent to any server.

Can I add custom dares?

Custom dare injection is on the roadmap. For now, the 180+ curated pool covers 6+ rounds without repeats.
